Lenten Study from The Good Book Club
Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has offered an invitation to Episcopalians and all Christians to join the more than 25 partners presenting the Good Book Club, an opportunity for reflection and prayer. The Good Book Club is a churchwide program that invites the reading of the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles during the liturgical seasons of Lent and Easter 2018. Led by Forward Movement, http://www.forwardmovement.org the Good Book Club readings begin the Sunday prior to Ash Wednesday (February 11, 2018), and finish on Pentecost (May 20, 2018). St. Thomas’s Good Book Club Bible Study           One goal of the program is to read the books of Luke and Acts through by the end of May. For that purpose, the program provides a list of daily readings.  These readings are listed in this link. Daily Reading Schedule

A second goal of the program is to discuss excerpts from the past week’s scripture during weekly Bible Study.  For us, these discussions replace discussion of the Lectionary readings and occur on Sunday mornings at 9:45.  Program material is provided on a weekly basis.

Bible Study will NOT meet on Easter Sunday.

APR8  Week 6: Acts 1:1-11       This week, we will take a close look at Acts and the events surrounding the birth of the church. Events like the Ascension and Pentecost will come sharply into focus, and we will consider ways the Holy Spirit is still ministering to and through us today.
